Overflowing gutters?

From time to time we come across gutters that have been neglected for several years. This picture is a prime example. The picture was taken at a recent gutter cleaning job we did in Johnson City Tn. The customer stated that he had a problem with water getting into his basement after a rainfall. We examined the gutters and we found the gutters full of moss, all kinds of debris and little twigs growing in the gutter. So basically when it rained the gutters overflowed and water got down in the foundation and found its way into his basement.  We cleaned the whole gutter system out including flushing the down spouts and now the gutters are flowing freely and should eliminate the water seeping into the basement.
